The Mediation Center offers free mediation services to Carroll County residents, businesses and organizations at times and locations convenient to participants. Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process in which neutral mediators help people find a resolution to their conflict. Our mediators are all volunteers who are professionally trained. Head Start is a federally funded program offering a comprehensive range of early childhood development services for 3- to 5-year-old children. It serves children from low-income families and children with disabilities. Early Head Start provides services to children 6 weeks old to age 3 in a center-based environment. We are focused on providing children with experiences that help them grow mentally, emotionally, socially and physically and are geared to provide enrolled families with resources that make them strong, independent and successful. Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to meeting the needs of residents who lack adequate housing. They work in partnership with people in need to build, renovate and repair decent affordable housing. Dads Works / Moms Works is a support group and parenting program in Carroll County Maryland that benefits Dads and Moms, and their families. Our focus is to help improve Dad’s and Mom’s relationship with their child and their child’s other parent. We help improve interpersonal relationships through communication and relationship skills, teach parenting skills, teach anger management techniques along with skills to prevent domestic violence. The Civil Air Patrol is the official civilian auxiliary of the US Air Force. Civil Air Patrol’s Cadet program provides young people between 12 and 21 the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through their interest in aviation. Penn-Mar Human Services’ mission is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live courageous lives full of self-determination, independence, and equity. Founded in 1981, Penn-Mar serves nearly 2,000 adults with IDD each year through community living, day learning, customized employment, family and peer supports, and respite programs in Carroll and Baltimore counties in Maryland, and in southern York county in Pennsylvania. Carroll Child Care Center serves families of all income levels by offering a healthy environment in which children can discover, learn and grow. Carroll County’s oldest and most credentialed program for the education and care of very young children, ages six weeks and older, takes place at 224 North Center Street, in Westminster, opposite the County government office building.
